The Island Before NO by Christina Uss, illustrated by Hudson Christie

Christina Uss' words plus awesome claymation illos by Hudson Christie are a perfect pairing! My first read was out loud- for fun! And I immediately had a voice! The energy was so effortless. Walrus's on an island together, who are totally cool with saying YES to everything, are bombarded with kids that answer, NO! It's so silly it's perfect!! I can't say enough about the illustrations. The graphic expression of the terrain, the cool color palette, the use of text in the illos, I LOVE it all!! My favorite graphic is the ocean waving up on the volleyball game! So imaginative!!
