ANYTHING by Rebecca Stead, illustrated by Gracey Zhang  is so lovely. I was not expecting it to have such an emotional curve. It started off as many picture books, there was even cake! But as you turn each page, and learn each wish for anything, you get to know this little kiddo. You get to know their dad. You get to know their space, and the space between them. And the illustrations have as much emotion as the words.
